weight management

what is weight management all about? i am not going to be cheeky and say it’s about managing your weight!

first and foremost, we need to understand that the number on the scale is really not a very accurate way to gauge your health. there can be an individual who weighs more than what the 1983 metropolitan life insurance height-weight table suggests, but may actually be superfit. it can be other way round as well.

what is essential, more scientific and practical is that the amount of fat in your body should be in recommended levels.

‘fat’ people often feel acutely worried by their body weight and always dream of having a thinner body. but, looking thin is not necessarily healthy. what is healthy is that the fat in your body should be in healthy proportions. remember, fat is not your enemy. it has important functions to perform in your body. however like everything else, fat, in excess, plays havoc.

more than reducing weight (which many misinformed trainers and trainees aim for), you should aim to bring fat in the normal healthy levels. this is known as targeted fat loss.

this is what you will get in amit’s training. weight management with healthy targeted fat loss.

for weight management, you need the right mix of resistance training, aerobic training, nutrition and recovery plan, which are designed considering your specific needs and your specific individual differences

amit's training will not only provide you with the correct type and amount of exercise, but also a comprehensive, scientifically based nutrition and recovery plan that will help you recover from your workouts and lose all that fat.

there are 3 different ways to manage your weight, according to your goals –

  • reduce the body weight, while increasing your lean body mass and reducing fat (for the overweight)
  • stay the same body weight, while increasing your lean body mass and reducing fat (for those who are happy with their current weight)
  • increase the body weight, while increasing your lean body mass and reducing fat (for the very thin).
